Drainage Channel

Drainage Channels – Supplying

This job needed to be done because of excessive water pooling on the drive. To begin this project, we sourced our drainage channels from Selco Builders Warehouse. The goal was to remove a section of existing block paving and neatly install two linear drainage channels in place. These would direct surface water away from the paved area and into a nearby drain, improving flow and preventing pooling. The channels offer a neat and attractive metal finish.

Removing the Blocks and Preparing the Ground

The blocks were carefully lifted in a straight line where the channels were to be laid. Once removed, we excavated the area to the correct depth, allowing room for both the channels and the concrete bedding. A hole was made in the concrete gully surround so the channels could discharge water efficiently into the drain.

Installing and Cementing the Drainage Channel

With the base prepared, we positioned the two drainage channels and set them in place using strong 3-1 sand and cement mix. The alignment was checked thoroughly to ensure the channel tops are flush with the surrounding paving for a seamless finish. The hole in the gully surround was filled in to finish the job.
